Patient and user are in the centre of attention when it comes to the creation of a new generation of products. The basic requirement for the new concept development of a panoramic x-ray unit was easy and safe patient positioning, particularly also for elderly patients and disabled persons.
Optimal workflow is the basis for a smooth running of a practice and the acquisition of precise diagnostic results. The new Orthophos XG Plus follows the tradition of successful panoramic x-ray units by Sirona regarding function and design. The design plays an important role in Sirona's product development and guarantees high quality products. The clear stylistic elements of the previous models were continuously improved to form both the basis for the new product generation of x-ray equipment and for the entire company. The basic unit model is available with an additional option for cephalometric radiography and TSA for transversal slice acquisition.
The assigned key design task was to optimize the human-machine interface with its numerous new functions. The easy and intuitive operation is a basic requirement for all markets with less well trained practice staff. Operating safety is given special importance, particularly for x-ray units as the x-ray procedure cannot be repeated at random due to the limits for radiation exposure.
